The Chief People Officer, reporting to the CEO, will be responsible for all elements of the People Function including business partnership, recruiting, learning and development, talent management, total rewards, HR systems and operations, and compliance globally. This person will be a partner to the CEO and the leadership team in developing the company’s strategy in a fast growing technology company.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Talent Attraction (Recruiting)

  • Build a high-performance recruiting machine that hits hiring goals on-time and adds high-performers. Strengthen the selection and assessment processes. Teach hiring managers how to better assess for culture fit and future potential. Strengthen Apollo’s employment brand as it expands into different talent markets. Leverage Apollo’s own technology and out-of-the-box ideas to drive quality and efficient hiring.

Performance Management & Employee Engagement

  • As Apollo scales, help its leaders build a culture and employee experience defined by high engagement and performance.
  • Own and move the needle on end-to-end employee experience (measured by eNPS).
  • Put in place an engine for employee growth and development that drives engagement and motivates employees to continuously stretch and learn.
  • Take a rigorous, analytical and disciplined approach to employee listening and actioning key learnings from employee sentiment.

HR Business Partners

  • Coach the senior leadership team on being effective leaders as the company continues to grow and change; act as the pulse of the employee base and foster meaningful and regular two-way employee communication.
  • Work closely with, and support, all of Apollo’s people managers on building leadership capability, including communicating with their teams and driving engagement in a remote environment; goal setting and tracking; delivering performance feedback; architecting development paths/programs; and working effectively as a team.

Foundations & Compliance

  • Put in place the enabling infrastructure that the People function needs to scale, including the right systems, processes, people, metrics, and best practices.
  • Build capability around People-related practices and systems that ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and develop a world-class People team; hire and train additional team members.


  • 15+ yrs of progressive HR leadership within high-growth, technology-driven organizations
  • BS Degree in HR Management, Organizational Psychology, or applicable area from Tier 1 school; Masters Degree preferred
  • 7+ yrs building and leading remote geographically dispersed teams globally
  • Relevant accredited HR certifications such as SHRM-SCP, AIHR, etc. 
  • Proven HR expertise and background within high growth companies, with increasing levels of accountability and seniority, and with significant time spent working with highly effective and driven executive teams
  • Strong EQ with cultivated interpersonal skills with varied high growth organizations and expertise in leading HR organizations
  • Strong initiative, always striving to raise the bar and inspiring the same from those around them
  • Possess a high level of integrity, being highly credible internally as well as with business partners and investors
  • A continuous learning mindset along with nimbleness and agility to work through ambiguity and the unknown
  • A high level of ownership, confidentiality, and attention to detail
  • An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • A deep understanding of equity compensation and dealing with an evolving compensation model
  • An effective communicator, having extensive experience in people development, coaching and mentoring
