People Operations Manager

As a member of the People Operations team, you’ll work with leadership, managers, and individual employees across the company to design, implement, and manage key People Operations programs, processes, and initiatives. We don’t only want to create a more human place on the Internet… but inside our own walls too by providing the human-first support, tools, programs, and infrastructure that allows all Clubhouse employees to do the best work of their careers.
In this role, you will report to our Head of People Operations and work closely with the broader People Ops team to manage the employee lifecycle of all Housemates. From managing key programs like performance management and total rewards to optimizing internal operations, you will help shape our processes and programs and bring a deep understanding of People Operations to the table.
We are a remote friendly-company — with our headquarters in San Francisco, a second office in LA, and a strong commitment to ensuring people can do great work here and thrive without having to live near an office. This role is open to candidates across the U.S.
Who you are
You’re experienced in the intersection of people and culture. You have 5+ years of experience building, managing, and scaling People programs that bring company culture into the various stages of the employee lifecycle. You believe that people are at the center of every moment and are an expert at implementing processes and programs that drive positive organizational impact.
You’re a builder. You thrive in environments where you can identify a need or problem and quickly build and execute a plan to solve it. You are creative and process-driven in your approach, possessing a firm understanding of core People programs having built them before. You understand what it takes to get from A to B and can create processes in a fast-paced environment that allow teams to move with both speed and efficiency.
You know your HR compliance. You have a broad and deep understanding of federal, state, and local legal requirements and know how and when to make appropriate trade-offs. You have a pulse on new legislation and take the necessary action to ensure our company remains protected and compliant.
You’re deeply human. You have an innate understanding of people and care deeply that everyone is heard, respected, recognized, and appreciated. You’re empathetic and aware of others’ feelings, and have experience taking feedback and putting it into action to continually enhance the employee experience.
You thrive in a hybrid world. You’ve leaned into the in-person/virtual balance over the last few years and found new ways for employees to thrive in a hybrid world. You continuously consider the hybrid element and how it may impact your programs and processes more than ever before.

What you will do
You’ll build and manage our lifecycle programs. From performance management to onboarding/offboarding, all the way to learning and development and employee engagement, you’ll have the opportunity to build, iterate and manage lifecycle programs deeply impacting the employee experience.
You’ll help manage our Total Rewards. You will analyze compensation bands and market data, iterate on our compensation philosophy, and ensure our primary and ancillary benefits remain competitive. You’ll ensure that we are thoughtful in our holistic approach and be an influential member in advising our Total Rewards strategy.
You’ll own People Ops systems. You will ensure our current systems and platforms (HRIS, benefits portal, etc.) are humming, keeping our data integrity high and our automated processes consistent. You’ll raise the flag when it may be time to consider new systems as the needs of our business change and evaluate potential vendors. You’ll partner with other members of our team to ensure our People data is flowing in and out and is easily accessible.
You’ll keep Clubhouse compliant. You’ll lead the charge to create Clubhouse’s annual compliance calendar and set processes to ensure we’re reporting, filing, and operating compliantly. You’ll work with our internal team as well as external partners to keep the trains on track and continually grow your compliance knowledge.
You’ll drive employee engagement. You’ll be responsible for administering and analyzing our employee engagement surveys through Culture Amp. You will derive valuable insights from the data collected and partner with our team to propose actionable strategies and programs to leadership on how we can maintain top-tier employee engagement and the optimal employee experience.
