The Global VP, Talent Acquisition (TA) will develop and drive effective strategies and practices that are aligned to GumGum’s global business goals and talent initiatives. The leader in this role will implement practice, processes, training and tools that enable us to continue to evolve and scale our TA practices, taking them to the next level. The VP will apply your leadership expertise, operational depth and strategic thinking to develop creative ideas for identifying, evaluating and hiring global talent who deeply believe in GumGum’s mission and values. With a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, the VP will develop practices that attract and engage a diverse workforce.

The VP will lead and develop a distributed team of recruiting professionals and collaborate across diverse channels to drive operational excellence and successful results. This role is accountable and responsible for achieving global hiring goals by working with teams across all regions to deliver effectively on recruiting goals and targets. Partnering closely with key business leaders, you will design and deliver an insightful and ambitious hiring plan with a constant eye on scaling for the future. The VP will also occasionally serve in a ‘player / coach’ role by serving as the full lifecycle recruiter on many of the senior-level positions.

Serving in a key leadership role within the People (HR) team and across GumGum, the global VP will report directly to the global Chief People Officer. 

Note: GumGum currently operates in a ‘work from home’ virtual environment with sporadic opportunities for in-person business and morale events (health guidelines permitting). There will not be any requirement to go into the office on a daily basis moving forward. GumGum is only open to hiring remote candidates who are residents in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and MN.


  • Leadership & Management
  • Inspire, grow and nurture a global team of engaged talent acquisition professionals who deliver on our Business and Technical hiring needs. 
  • Work with key business leadership across the globe to understand future plans and recruiting implications and develop a global strategy to deliver on these plans. Tailor strategies to local markets as necessary.
  • Manage the global TA team and report on its performance.  
  • Serve as key leader and member of GumGum’s People (HR) leadership team 
  • Coach, mentor, and develop individuals on the Talent Acquisition team to provide a high level of support in their and our growth.
  • Advise recruiters on negotiation tactics for offers to candidates. Consult and advise on offers.
  • Talent Acquisition & Recruiting Strategy
  • Identify and implement new sourcing skills, methods and resources across the TA team. 
  • Research and choose job advertising / promotion strategies and options.  
  • Lead and manage a holistic employment branding strategy.  
  • Coordinate with department managers and business unit leaders to forecast future hiring needs and associated TA resources.  
  • Identify key partnerships with diversity organizations, industry trade groups, conferences, events, and career fairs.  
  • Identify when it’s appropriate to leverage third-party recruiting agencies; manage these relationships and contracts. 
  • Develop and deploy a sustainable candidate lead strategy.
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
  • Build, advocate for, and foster diversity, equity and inclusion best practices in all aspects of the recruitment process
  • Build strategies and practices that ensure the adoption of equitable and inclusive hiring practices across the company
  • Collaborate with internal and external DEIB partners to continually enhance and deploy TA DEIB practices.
  • TA Operations & Process
  • Assess, improve and update current and new recruiting procedures and processes (e.g. job application and onboarding processes).  
  • Continually review and assess the effectiveness of the recruitment software (ATS) and suggest the best option for company needs.  
  • Maximize ATS tools, automation and reporting.
  • Partner with Procurement to negotiate terms with recruiting agencies and other TA vendors (e.g., software, tools, technology, partner groups)
  • Partner with the Chief People Officer to draft the annual TA budget. Manage the recruiting budget and expenses throughout the year. 
  • Metrics & Reporting
  • Create a thoughtful, clear metrics-driven approach to TA that tracks, monitors, and evaluates the impact and effectiveness of all programs and initiatives.
  • Identify key partners, tools and technology to identify, measure, and report on recruiting metrics. 
  • Leverage metrics to inform recruiting strategies and practices. 
  • Share key TA metrics, insights and reports with leadership. 
  • Utilize metrics to inform recruiting priorities, methods and strategies.
  • Best Practices & Training
  • Provide consultation on the development of TA training materials and advise on approach, program and schedule in partnership with HR.  
  • Guide hiring managers and interviewers on interviewing techniques. 
  • Stay up-to-date on labor legislation and inform recruiters and managers about changes in regulations.  
  • Advise internal clients on best recruiting practices.
  • Relationship Management
  • Build the company’s professional network through relationships with HR/ TA professionals, colleges and other partners.  
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners to build and maintain strong internal relationships across the Company and to accurately scope roles. 
  • Manage expectations with key stakeholders and keep pace with the constantly changing demands of the business.
  • Select and manage key relationships with third-party recruiting agencies. 
  • Communicate with leaders across the global organization to get a clear view on their hiring needs and organizational goals.
  • Executive Recruiting
  • Serve as the full lifecycle recruiter for senior-level positions.  
  • Implement process and best practices for the screening and interview process.
  • Serve as back-up to the TA team if unexpected resourcing needs arise.
  • Industry Expertise
  • Keep pulse on industry trends within talent acquisition.
  • Stay up-to-date on GumGum and AI / computer vision / ad tech industry news and trends.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • MBA or relevant Master’s degree is a plus but not required
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible talent acquisition experience with a portion of this time as a Recruiting Manager and/or Recruiting Consultant responsible for strategy, process and team management  
  • Although not required, experience leading global Talent Acquisition teams and strategies is a plus
  • Experience hiring, managing and inspiring a team of excellent TA progressionals
  • Experience and proven success working with TA diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Proven success in delivering consistent results under time pressures while managing multiple priorities & stakeholders
  • Knowledge and hands-on expertise developing a well rounded employment branding strategy including methods for utilizing social media and other professional networks to further employment branding and attract candidates
  • Experience in managing and fully leveraging the Applicant Tracking Systems and HR databases  
  • Excellent understanding and experience with a a variety of recruitment strategies, processes and candidates selection methods
  • Experience driving efficiency and delivering on measurable impact through data
  • Superior communication skills coupled with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, vendors, partners, managers, 
  • Strong cross functional collaboration across all departments of the company
