Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Organizational Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience developing and implementing hiring selection/assessment tools and conducting validation studies
  • Experience with statistics and one or more approaches
  • Experiencing consulting and influencing stakeholders and translating technical information for a non-technical audience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with R, SPSS, Stata, or other statistical languages
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and analyzing data from surveys and/or experimental research
  • Experience conducting research in an applied setting
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent consulting and client/project management skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills

About the job

Our team is made up of social scientists who conduct survey and archival research to inform people-related business decisions.

In this role, you will build assessments used to optimize Google’s hiring process that are valid, fair, efficient, and yield positive experiences. You'll work with industrial and organizational psychologists and other social science researchers to conduct research on Google’s hiring process, including validation studies, adverse impact, and other related research.

Additional Information

(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of $122,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

  • Use social science research with an emphasis on Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology to build assessments that optimize hiring processes.
  • Design hiring assessments for a variety of job families, conduct validation studies to demonstrate their efficacy, and influence stakeholders to encourage adoption into the hiring process.
  • Use analytical reasoning to identify problems and develop hypotheses that can be tested.
  • Design and implement research studies, analyze data, and report on results of research initiatives to business audiences.
  • Connect ideas into cohesive, well-grounded recommendations, using creative, structured, and analytical thinking. Use data visualization to help communicate ideas.
