Role Summary: 

The Director, People & Experience Programs is responsible for the building and implementing the organizational effectiveness strategies that support the overall employee experience at Saks. They will lead the design, development and delivery of all programs and initiatives, including but not limited to Talent Management, Learning and Development, Employee Engagement and Culture. This individual will partner with People Business Partners, in addition to stakeholders such as People Operations, Internal Communications and Business Operations, to enhance the employee experience and develop our people, ultimately leading to business success.

Key Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience & specialist knowledge within Organizational Development and/or Employee Experience
  • BA or BS degree; with an MBA or MA in a related field preferred
  • Previous experience implementing organizational development strategies at a complex organization
  • Successful track record in leading large-scale initiatives
  • Solutions oriented, with superior problem-solving skills and ability to make logical, complex decisions in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills, including both verbal and written communications
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Google Workspace (Mail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) 
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination prior to beginning employment

Role Description:

  • Lead team of two in developing, delivering, evaluating, and refining talent and experience programs; specifically the development and implementation of a structured talent management framework, Voice of Employee program, and Learning and Development strategy 
  • Lead initiatives to grow corporate culture that support a fast learning and high growth organization 
  • Conduct research on talent management, VOE survey, and learning and development best practices in order to develop resources and advise on best practices and benchmarks  
  • Successfully partner with senior leaders, serving as a credible and trusted resource
  • Be a strategic thinker, be able to envision, distill, communicate, develop and implement short and long-term organizational effectiveness strategies
  • Act as a thought partner to People Business Partners
