What we are looking for:

We are looking for an experienced and strategic HR leader to be responsible for leading all aspects of Human Resources of DeepLearning.AI. We additionally work with a large contractor workforce, and this person will be responsible for managing the operational and people-related matters for our contractor workforce as well.

Here’s what you will do:

  • Work with the leadership team to formulate and execute an appropriate people strategy, taking into account culture, values, HR policies, people operations, and recruiting. 
  • Lead the company’s efforts to ensure a positive culture and strong team relations and morale. Lead the company’s headcount planning and talent strategy, taking into account budget, and the company’s needs and growth. Assist the company in making good decisions in the types, levels, and geographies from where to recruit talent. 
  • Oversee the efforts of our outsourced talent acquisition team to drive hiring and recruiting, and develop and implement strategies to level up our approach to onboarding, employee engagement, and retention.
  • Lead all operational aspects of DeepLearning.AI related to people and talent, including HR admin.  
  • Develop and operationalize all matters related to HR policy, including compensation, regulatory compliance, and performance management.

Here are the requirements or skills you should have:

  • B.S./B.A. Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience of 7+ years of HR experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years of direct HR Management experience with a proven track record of managing employee relations. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and interface with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with experience communicating and working effectively at all levels and across our entire ecosystem.
  • Would thrive in high growth, fast-changing, but limited resources and sometimes ambiguous environments (i.e., a startup!). 
  • Creative and scrappy problem solver who rolls up their sleeves and does what needs to be done. 
  • Must have worked at an early-stage startup and accustomed to wearing multiple hats in an HR capacity.
  • International HR experience is a plus.

This is a full-time position based in the United States. Our team operates mostly in the US west coast time zone. If you do not live in the San Francisco Bay Area, travel to this area about once per quarter might be required. You must already have, or be able to obtain, authorization to work in the United States.
