How You Will Make An Impact

As the VP of People Operations & Total Rewards, you will be responsible for evolving and enhancing thredUP’s global rewards, benefits, programs, processes and initiatives. Using your deep knowledge of the current market and employee needs, you will drive our total rewards strategy and build our People operations capabilities to scale with thredUP’s growth. This collaborative individual will work cross functionally with business leadership and key stakeholders to ensure all programs align with business objectives. We are looking for an innovative leader who will make an immediate impact by maintaining a world-class employee experience.

In This Role You’ll Get To:

  • Manage and continue to build thredUP’s People Operations team
  • Partner closely with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and People Leaders across the People team to assess existing programs, processes, and practices and drive innovative solutions to enhance the employee experience
  • Collaborate with our global team to ensure alignment on total rewards philosophy, strategy and design in order to develop a total rewards program uniquely aligned to our values
  • Design a seamless candidate/employee experience from start to finish
  • Own any People or Talent Acquisition product/technology implementations, including our implementation of Workday
  • Oversee company wide programs that attract and retain top talent
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment regulations and best practices that are highly aligned to meeting the needs of the business and improving employee experience
  • Maintain a sharp eye on local market and industry trends to propose recommendations to business leaders and/or adjust operations strategies
  • Analyze data to track and report on performance of our People team against our internal and external goals and establish working norms and target KPIs for the People team
  • Continuously assess whether we have the right People toolset, and explore new partnership opportunities that allow for better efficiency, cost savings or improved workflow

What We’re Looking For:

  • 10+ years of rich experience in total rewards, people operations and/or HR systems with a rapidly growing organization
  • Experience with a wide variety of HR tools and systems including implementation of new products. Experience with Workday strongly preferred
  • Passion for developing programs that scale in a fast growing organization with a distributed workforce (both hourly and salaried)
  • Keen ability to develop relationships and influence business leaders
  • Master collaborator and communicator
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive but able to recognize and support thredUP’s preferences and priorities
  • Track record of building and leading teams effectively
  • Deep understanding of the current market, including staying ahead of industry best practices and future trends of both comp and benefits
  • An “out of the box” thinker when it comes to finding new innovative ways to enhance our Total Rewards program(s)
