Aquabyte is seeking a Head of People and Culture to join our team. Your mandate will be to help build our culture and people processes that prepare our company for operational scaling and growth. This role is flexible and involves occasional travel to Norway.

Your role will include a mix of helping C-Level leaders answer critical strategic questions and working hand-in-hand with the entire organization to manage day-to-day operations. You will apply a thoughtful mindset to our people processes and culture, business model, and cross functional communication, and use a mix of creativity, data, and people skills to find opportunities for improvement in each. You should be comfortable wearing multiple hats and eager to be a part of quickly moving and growing startup environment.

Job Responsibilites

  • Lead, build and grow all People function by implementing a People strategy to proactively position Aquabyte for operational growth and scaling
  • Oversee Aquabyte's global people strategies from our international headquarters in San Francisco by acting as a strategic partner and advisor to our senior leadership team on all People matters including employee relationships, organizational development, talent acquisition, talent management & development, people operations, recruiting, total rewards and more.
  • Foster a growth-oriented and motivating culture while keeping employees and management accountable to company policies and best practices
  • Executive coach to our leadership team


  • 15+ years of HR and Recruiting experience in a fast-paced, global organization
  • Demonstrated success scaling an HR organization from scratch, scaling a company from 50 to 500 employees
  • A history of being strategic, analytical and execution-oriented
  • Experience managing teams across offices and timezones
  • Deep cultural awareness/experience working with culturally diverse company
  • Ability to influence across all levels
